Wherewe ride

Three riders on a dirt road through the Patagonian steppe

SouthRuta 40

Patagonia

Wild, wide and windy.

Huge spaces, sharp skylines, clear lakes and rivers. Fast dirt roads across the steppe, the legendary Ruta 40, long climbs and mountain passes, and a silence you will remember long after you're home.

This is where most of our riders go, and where we know every track.

Altitude and colour.

Salta and Jujuy: long climbs through dry, open country, salt flats on the Puna, then a long descent into the green cloud forest of the Yungas.

Misiones

Another kind of rhythm.

Red earth tracks, dense subtropical forest and small villages along the Paraná, with the Iguazú Falls close by.

FAQ7 questions

Goodquestions

What riders usually ask us before booking.

Do I need to be a very fit cyclist?

No. You should be comfortable riding several days in a row, but every trip is designed around your level: daily distance, climbing and rest days. With the All in and Supported ride options, the van is never far if you need a break.

What kind of bike do I need?

A gravel bike or a mountain bike. Most of our routes run on dirt and gravel roads. Not sure your bike fits? Tell us what you ride and we'll let you know.

Can I rent a bike, or should I bring mine?

Both work. Riding your own bike is the most comfortable, but bike rental is available as an option. Just mention it when we plan your trip.

When is the best time to go?

Patagonia from November to February, North Argentina and Misiones from June to September. Want to ride at another time? Ask us, many regions ride well outside these windows.

How many people per trip?

From 2 to 10 riders. Couples, friends or a small club: every trip is designed for your own group.

Is it safe to ride in Argentina?

Argentina is a relatively safe country to ride in. We favour quiet dirt roads away from traffic, our guides know the regions well, and we plan each day around the weather.
